Ubon House by Studio Supermachiner

The villa built around the central idea of an exciting young couple. The husband would like to do job and live inseparably, placing workplace flying above the pool to jump into the water right from the desktop when stressed. 600 kilometers east of Bangkok, Ubonratchathani is a city with one of the major rivers in Thailand, the Moon River. The couple chose to build modern and minimalis house just outside the city. The land near the river and has a splendid view over the green swamp solo created by the winding river to the north. Beauty is right in front but on the other side of the house is a deposit of the supermarket chain. Life and work never separated.

In this context, small workroom is the primary key that links the different parts of daily life activities. The room is high on the second floor and out onto the pool 20 meters at ground level. The large glass window opens for nature scene outside. This is a place where they spend all their time together, after awakening, after returning from work or before going to bed. The Hall seeks to accommodate these activities of living and working in the modern personal lifestyle, playing video games, drinking coffee, checking e-mails or jumping into water.

Although the house is built with a modern architectural language, it takes a lot of social factors into consideration. When sliding doors and glass windows in the floor level fully open, this level can be aired in its entirety in the south-north wind. The living space extends out on the terrace and pool, making them a single zone to be continuous. This semi-open space is configured to look to avoid the air conditioning. The architectural setting are similar to the old traditional Thai house where enclosed spaces elevated to allow unobstructed floor level and multi-purpose for family activities.
