Paul Laurendeau Architecte made his public proposal for the winner of contest Amphitheatre Trois-Rivières in Quebec, Canada. The centerpiece of the proposed Three Rivers on Lawrence Street is to build an outdoor amphitheater with capacity for 10,000 people. To achieve the amphitheater, the Muncipal chosen to proceed with this design of a building of international significance.

Since early 2000, the city of Three Rivers developed a major project of re-development for overlooking land, the banks of the River Street Lawrence. The quality of the location of the land, formerly industrial park in conjunction with the port in the center, the street Lawrence River and Ile Saint-Quentin, looking regal intervention, harmonious and dynamic. They designed much of the infrastructure (paths, plazas, public spaces, cultural facilities) that make the project either as an anchor at the crossroads of major watercourses in Norteamércia and the majestic Saint-Maurice River.

Taking into the objectives account of the program and the evaluation criteria stated in the contest, the jury wanted to emphasize that the winning project by:
- The elegance of its monumental character and generous opening to the river St. Maurice and St. Lawrence will help the image of the city of Trois-Rivieres.
- The quality of implementation, land development and quality of public spaces.
- The quality of interior spaces in terms of natural light.
- Clarity and simplicity of the spatial organization.
- The quality of the tectonic proposal.

The jury particularly noted the importance of what will be the project as a structural element in the development of the proposed Three Rivers on Lawrence Street.
