Town Hall Allin Valley – Valencia Jiménez Ekain Iriarte and Patxi Lapetra

It begins with a compact volume and defined the program that brings together all on two floors of 150 square meters each. The main objective is to organize the program to optimize its functionality, design avoiding concessions that hinder the clarity of uses. The ground floor includes more public uses of the program (administration and public service area, offices, multipurpose room and bathrooms). On the first floor are located the plenary hall and file, and toilets.

The elements that define the interior space is limited exclusively to meet the requirements of functionality and comfort, avoiding any action amiss personalistic basis of the “law of least effort.”

Similarly, the exterior is intended to be a reflection of that fact, place value on the representativeness of the building avoiding actions beyond what is strictly necessary: ??It is thought the continent as a small box of concrete, ribbed texture which gives the building some domestic. The number of holes has been reduced to a minimum, prompting the opposition wall / hole in each of the facades.

So, what in principle is a simple and abstract volume, becomes, through the combination of openings and treatment striatum, an object inhabited.

In this condition the main facade of “hollow representative” acquires a certain entity, combining public access and balcony hall which represents local authorities in one hole, thereby focusing the idea of ??”public power” characteristic of this types of buildings. Also, the apparent symmetry of the balcony and access is subtly dislocated, avoiding a central reading that would result in excessively redundant.

The presence of the health center also influences the design of the proposal in terms of its location in the plot. Is respected above all the orientation of the health center, so the Town Hall became part of the whole. Access to the Town Hall checked, then the alignments of the health center, so there is a frontal approach to the building from the outside. The two buildings form a new civic place clearly characteristics regardless of the size of the performance. And this new place, this plot serves not only the basis for these buildings, but also as a new small public area for people.
