The tourist information Avenida Hacienda Santa Barbara and Chile are part of a series of projects managed by the District Institute of Tourism which are intended to provide telephone services, and internet and local tourists at strategic points in Bogotá.
The typical functional program to a point of information requires host several computers for internet access, telephones, interactive displays and information counter in a small area.
The design process of the evaluation of project-specific conditions, thereby avoiding the idea of ??a standard design, universal and replicable.
From variations in the geometry section, plant and internal distribution structures clearly achieve integration with its surroundings.
Due to its small interior space and program requirements, the structures required to fully open to the outside during the day and become tight and secure areas at night. This factor suggested the development of an efficient cladding panels made of wood, with a rail system and pivot joint that allows the linear movement of the leaves on the same plane.
For location of these two specific items were chosen outdoor presenting the opportunity to explore relationships with its immediate external environment.
Point Avenue in Chile was taken into account the back wall and its surroundings that suggested the design of an introverted space. The structure was designed by hand from four modular parts easily assembled.
The Hacienda Santa Barbara Point required a more slender because of the limited space allocated for its construction. The vegetation is framed with a window and raised longitudinal staggered access platforms.
Although these points do not respond to a serial design, we sought to unify their identity by using materials such as wood, steel and glass, giving an elegant and sober composition.
