Rocket Solution Central increased from the necessity to consolidate and improve existing Student Educational Funding services for that College of Toledo by supplying a “One-Stop” service center. The present space would be a typical open plan administrative office put together from available work stations, poorly lit and stuffed up.

Existing perimeter offices were opened up towards the core by using movable glass partitions which function to create diffuse sun light towards the interior reception desk. Roofs were changed with suspended and curved elements that reinforce circulation and spatial definition. Additional customer support offices using movable solid and glass partitions were clustered inside the center administrative area to supply versatility. Existing lighting was changed with direct/indirect pendant fittings supplying enhanced illumination levels with significant decrease in electrical and Air conditioning energy needs.

Limited entry doorways were changed with a 30’ wide sliding glass wall permitting something line queue without restricting worker access. The Reception desk was enhanced and broadened to produce separate spaces for self-help and aided computer access with lounge seating to enhance comfort and possibilities for select few interaction.

The ultimate design solution balances technology and design to satisfy the aim for any customer friendly “state from the art” student services facility, the project was created to satisfy LEED-NC v2.2 recommendations.
