It was recently completed at Avila, in the heart of Spain, home farm designed for a private study in Madrid A-cero of JoaquĆn Torres and Rafael Llamazares. The building of considerable size, surrounded by meadows, chestnut, pine, oak and a rich fauna consists of deer and wild boar, which is why the client wanted to become a key element in the environmental context of design. With such a wealth and diversity of flora and fauna has become almost an obligation, or at least, a necessity that all areas you were connected with ease outside. The house is for this on one level for easy connection between the inside and outside and to take advantage of the environment as it is part.

The sense of this architecture made of stone, ceramic and wood to create a bond with the vernacular architecture, is to formalize the space and layout of the rooms. The building is U-shaped around a large patio access, clear tribute to traditional rural villages of southern Spain, the real world apart that reproduced through a complex web of separate buildings and open spaces, social status and relationships class of a historical and geographical context.
The areas of representation (room for large meetings and for television, games room, dining room, etc..) Are located in the main – at the bottom of the U – as the kids’ rooms. Service areas (kitchen, basement, laundry room, bedroom servants) in the west wing are the main and the bedrooms for guests. This volume, on the sides of the U, is characterized by very pronounced cantilevered roof, which frame and highlight the landscape.

The present patios help create a microclimate characterized by internal thermal comfort and a less extreme weather conditions of the site, thanks to the presence of pools of water along the sides of the courtyards. The patio is larger in pebbles of granite, conforms as an austere space, whose central area contains the main gate that leads directly to the drawing-room.

Architecture gently lying on the ground and determined by the criteria of cultural acceptance and use of local materials (stone, wood, ceramics), with a careful study of light and a clear desire to preserve, through reinterpretation, constructive native language .
