Located at the foot of a hill in a wooded two acres , the design looks for the synthesis of two potentially opposing conditions : the modern model of a house with the typology of Chinese building known as the ” quadrangle “( rectangular space surrounded by buildings) . The idea is to rethink the model as an entity but as a formal strategy and organizational. This specific area also inspires us to use topographic models operating at two levels: a volumetric organization that allows continuity between the landscape and the building and a smaller scale a folded surface that integrates and articulates the geometry and materials as they change spaces inside to outside.
Three skylights that symbolize the main programmatic intervention were located within the modules, with respect to a structural grid , these skylights create private outdoor spaces geometrically internalized dialogue with the overall organization . In an outward expression , the play of volumes produces a more didactic relationship between building and landscape , reaching a certain level of privacy and comfort. The qualities of the terraced volumes with skylights, including natural ventilation within the units and apartments, as well as create a space where you can enjoy the contrast between light and shade throughout the day.
