Solroed is a day care center, its facilities are specially designed for learning, abandoning the concept of care as “detention center.” The essence of the project is to create separate zones, each with a specific content. The set offers a great diversity of situations in which the child faces in different ways during the day.

One of the ambitions of the design were that the building was attractive for both the child and the adult. By entering SOLR, dede Rongs Kong, the visitor is confronted with a circular piece, the distribution center of the building, which can be accessed at different stations (rooms). The idea came from the petals of marigolds.

Each space is divided from each other by thick walls, which extend beyond the limit imposed by the closure. The result is independent courts, which in turn are connected by a large courtyard. The division between interior and exterior are generated from a large window. The idea is to create a connection between the two spaces, while ensuring good lighting and ventilation of the interior. Each station is designed to encourage children’s curiosity by incorporating colors and novel ways.
