Smooth Building by Jorge Hernandez de la Garza

The Smooth Building is located in a residential area called San Pedro Garza Garcia in Nuevo Leon, Mexico. The place is known for its beauty and excellent location overlooking the Sierra Madre Oriental.

The biggest challenge of the project was to integrate the two programs, an office and a house, in the same field, maximizing the use of space. The program is organized produced a mix of uses (office and home) at all four levels, giving each space its best location.

The harsh terrain irregularity and determines the dimensions of the structure, which occupies 70% of lot area. The structure evolves as a continuous unit volume around with different textures, responding both to weather and views.
