Architects began designing the workshop referencing the characteristic steep roof of the historic buildings around the city in the province of Eibenstock. The result is a building with sharp angular shapes formed by five surfaces of different inclination taken from the surrounding environment.
The large incision in the building under the large roof, marking the entrance of the general sculptural form. The construction of this body sculpture creates a kind of canopy that provide protection from snow and rain.
The entire volume is covered with red maple. In contrast to the foreign material, the incision is aligned to one side and polished aluminum finishes. This simple, traditional, but especially skin of the building is reminiscent of a stump, with its rough exterior, a dark crust and its interior a bright core and soft.
