Our project has been proposed as a new geographical configuration of the elongated within the Aburrá Valley, midway between Cerro Nutibara and Cerro El Volador. Topography is a landscape architecture with specific qualities and space: from afar or from the top has an abstract geographical image and festival, at the city level or from inside, the movement of the roof structure over access a faint light filtered suitable for the conduct of sporting events.
Deportiva Atanasio Girardot unit, inscribed in the wider area of ??city, suggests a position of law built: a North – South (With a nod to the west), determined by the best positioning of outdoor sports courts. Our project adds to existing urban sense, with the location of three new sports venues in the same position that the Ivan de Bedout Coliseum, allowing the following advantages:
A. Visual continuity and pedestrian introduction of the Race 70 within the Unidad Deportiva Atanasio Girardot. (The small deviation gets this important way to get to the sports complex, is continued and emphasized in the project.)
B. The creation of four new triangular spaces connected, that enrich the urban area of ??Paseo de la Carrera 70, and they also allow social and sporting exchange.
C. Free pedestrian circulation around the buildings, pedestrian crossings and urban walks different.
Our project means interior and exterior, built and open, unified way. The outdoor space and arenas are raised in a spatial relationship continues, thanks to a large deck built over a vast swaths of relief, perpendicular to the thrust of the positioning of buildings. The four arenas operate independently, but from the point of view of urban and space behave as a large continent built with public open spaces, semi-covered public spaces, and indoor sports. (Form Geographic)
We propose a public space defined by a large shadow generated by longer stretches of cover pergolas and extensions.
Groupings
Our project has three possible groupings:
A. Each of the four arenas can be understood as a separate building, urban relationships with others.
B. The three new arenas can be understood as a single large building, independent of Ivan de Bedout Coliseum.
C. The four arenas can be understood as a great place to set both the buildings and public spaces.
Our project raises the possibility that new buildings work as independent units during games, but also the possibility that at other times can be opened in its north and south sides, so that they can behave as a large indoor public park and sports with visual and spatial continuities transparencies. In the latter case, programs that are under the stands, would be controlled independently.
At each new stage sports programs and areas of competence are sinking slightly with respect to city level, and the covers are raised to obtain the proper height of powers, no need to build large-scale buildings and urban impact.
The shape of the buildings is defined by the structure itself, and for this you opt for a steel modular structure that optimizes the manufacturing and assembly process. The roof structure is raised in lattice steel trusses (the cheapest in the market) that are set up every five meters. These box beams, as a parallel gantry lights can overcome the court without any difficulty, and rely on a series of double columns in reinforced concrete, located at the ends of the stands and outdoor areas. This allows independently build each box beams, optimizing time in the manufacture and assembly.
