Residence for the Disabled / Atelier Zündel & Cristea

The general form of the building is the result of a pragmatic approach and determination to express the future level of the structure in terms of “a material that fills the negative” field in which it is located.

Facing the Planchette ruelle of his front line with the street, the top of the building collapses in accordance with current legislation, which softens the volume. The outer skin, protective, smooth, thin, neutral color, the city faces.

Facing the rue de Charenton, turning the field on a guided us towards the use of volumes of staggering proportions, which are folded into the roof is completely covered with the same material. Inside, the assembled mass is developed around two courtyards, the proportions are re-worked to suit the standards of material necessary to achieve natural lighting.
