Offices with Apartments by Buro II

The architects Hendrik Vermoortel and Rita Huys of the Belgian study BURO II / BURO Interior has designed a structure used to house offices with apartments on the upper floors, available to managers interested in the possibility of having the same place his residence. The project was developed in collaboration with Alhp ‘for the realization of interior design.

The book covers the end of a row of buildings, at an angle to the town square.
The architecture has been determined by the choice of materials: concrete, wood and aluminum. Exposed concrete of the supporting structures, ceilings and outer shell, the task of compensating the choice material of concrete is entrusted to the glass used for windows, windows and internal partitions, gives lightness to the volume. Oak wood is hidden in concrete construction, both horizontally (in the pavement) and vertically (stairs, cabinets, doors and exterior walls).
Inside, a wall of oak also divided the work space that is accessible to the public.
