Myrtus Convention Center

The project approach is to generate a building that serves to host large events, with capacity of up to one thousand people. Organic geometry of the building, built on a circular frame, generates continuous and fluid spaces, which lead to move freely in a flexible space.

The sinuous line that generates the envelope of the building at its plant gives an amiable character. Following the path of this line provides an alternate sequence of flat glass and white concrete tear volume vertically along the perimeter of the building. Inside, these openings generate intermittent visually connected space with garden and interior exterior boundaries blur. Only the parts that contain auxiliary applications appear as rigid and closed-core around which other spaces are configured.

The program is resolved over three floors, the ground floor houses the conference rooms with different forms of partitioning, a fact which gives a dynamic character and can generate into separate rooms and a kitchen on the first floor are the offices and restaurant and is located in the basement parking and other service applications.

The structural type adopted can solve lights 22 meters without intermediate supports, which provides flexibility of use in the classroom and let light through the interstices of the circular plates of varying diameters that form the ceiling level. The curved geometry of the floor space organized into three areas, two major large porches that allow the possibility of hosting celebrations on the outside and an area for service activities.
