MTY House by BGP Architecture
The house located in San Pedro Garza Garcia in a newly developed semi-wooded, consisting of lots of 10.000 m², with a strict building regulations with an emphasis on environmental protection. Finding inspiration in the environment, filled with interesting rocks and topography, the project developed from a series of boxes that flows between the topography and ground vegetation. The scattered pattern is woven in a variety of textures and isolated patios, playing with light and shade, protecting the house of the extreme climate of the place.
Each of the needs of the program organized in one volume, each volume maintains its formal independence from the rest to covered on the outside of travertine marble, wood paneling, weathering steel, u-glass, or exposed concrete. The composition regulated by orthogonal pattern in which the volumes are connected by glass walkways Duovent, in walls or ceiling, producing a tour of the ground when you have shelter inside the house . The strength of the volumes broken by windows that are oriented to the city or toward concentrations of vegetation within the grounds.
The house has two parking lots: one for daily use and one for collector car, on the daily parking located a room for visitors; as a continuation of this volume, it generates two more bodies, one with bathroom visits and other which houses the dining room. Annex next to the entrance and the dining room is on one side, a room with a small auditorium and terrace and on the other, the kitchen area and a sewing room. Through the utility corridor will reach the family room, which can also be accessed through a glass hallway that leads to an office working for the owners. The living room gives way eventually to the master bedroom which has an enclosed chamber to receive the grandchildren. In the basement, naturally ventilated and lit building on the slope of the land, are the service areas and mechanical rooms. The house works well as an “agency” in which its components interact to provide solutions to customer needs, local restrictions, and conditions.
