MS café by Wunderteam
Art Museum of Lodz, located in a nineteenth century building, Is a museum of tradition and modernity. To floor modernize and adapt the building to its new features Was necessary to pay homage to this tradition and the historical role of the building. Since the museum lacked a common space for social life, the main objective was to create a place with its own personality and encourage people to stay After visiting the exhibition.
For this, involving the Wi_ckowskiego street frontage where incorporates a glass wall does not interfere with the original structure. Thus, Museum stands out among the other buildingsWhile indicating that something happens inside. From this disclosure, the viewer is directed By clear signs or exposure to the cafeteria and library. In addition, the spaces are identified visually by their colors and lightingWhich is convenient for visitors to understand the place.
The biggest challenge was the area where it is located cafeteria and library. Is introduced glass box a library open, 2 rooms for the cafeteria, bar, locker rooms and bathrooms.
