The New Headquarters CONFEA (Federal Council of Engineering, Architecture and Agronomy of Brazil) is composed of the ground floor, four levels, the ceiling and 3 underground levels of parking.
The open floor, mixed with the loose organization of plants, was undoubtedly one of the main components of the project concept. Basically, the ground floor is intended for the main entrance where the reception, plenary and areas support.
The remaining plants (1 st, 2 nd, 3 rd and 4 th floor) were designated for administrative use CONFEA. To do this, open plan was essential. There are no pillars inside (it covers a span of 22, 50 m) so that the design can be arranged in any way.
This performance was achieved through the structural concept. The structure is a combination of concrete and steel, consisting of metal beams in the center of a concrete structure with symmetrical overhangs 3.75m indoors.
The load imbalance caused by the inner end is offset by a tensor (bar) at the outer end of the beam. All areas of the bars anchored in the foundation wall, also responsible for lateral containment of underground levels .
From the ground floor to the top level, offices are protected by a perforated membrane also protects the main galleries.
The level of the roof was designed with a great restaurant to host social events such as lunches, cocktail parties, etc. The design of the restaurant received a special plastic treatment, away from the common roof, making it a space only the result of a piece of metal tri-articulated.
As a fundamental premise, the avenues W3 and W2 were integrated through the open spaces of the galleries on the ground floor. The landscape reinforces the intentions through a body of water also contributes to the local climate (Brasilia has a very dry climate ). It also integrates the new building at the old headquarters CONFEA.
