ANA Intercontinental Hotel Tokyo recently opened shows a great work space inside. Spanning 600 m2 in the top 36 floors of a hotel, MIXX Bar & Lounge is a playful exploration of light and shadows, providing a window of the atmosphere over the city of Tokyo. Compared with neutral gray walls, there are also several layers of beige, woodwork, bronze and stone, complemented with hand made fabrics by designer Reiko Sudo.
The space combines traditional craftsmanship and Japanese art through a modern design to create a seamless connection with a nation rich in cultural heritage. Designed to highlight and improve the digital sharp portrait of Tokyo developed through their windows. The entrance is marked by a “door light”: a floating wall sculptures, white curtains, they reflect through a play and mirrors that delicately balance the dynamic lighting.
Floor covering, rug design unique in its colors, evoke natural moss that exists in traditional Japanese gardens. The first of the three areas is an area of open bar, a warm and sociable meeting of friends, offers a great place to enjoy cocktails and appetizers. The main bar area. A great inn of 10 meters long sets a bold tone, taking as a stage in front and background windows that reveal the Mount Fuji digital day and light show in Tokyo at night.
True to its status bar and as a starting point for many tourists visiting Tokyo for the first time, the three areas that make MIXX are designed to complement the urban and landscape beyond the windows (Acting as an ambassador city).
