Rather it is a house that is based on the vernacular architecture of the area and fits through these traditional methods to the climate and temperature of Bahia. The buildings in this town have a long tradition of building which knows the way to keep cool the heated indoor climate which reaches over 40 º C at times. These homes have roofs made of clay and wooden skies . The openings are large wooden Mashrabiya legacy of Portuguese colonial architecture .
