Bay house is a house ” green ” , but not in the current sense of what we mean by “sustainable” , where the concept referred to using the latest technologies, equipment and software. Rather it is a house that is based on the vernacular architecture of the area and fits through these traditional methods to the climate and temperature of Bahia. In this house software were used and sustainable technologies.

The buildings in this town have a long tradition of building which knows the way to keep cool the heated indoor climate which reaches over 40 º C at times. These homes have roofs made of clay and wooden skies . The openings are large wooden Mashrabiya legacy of Portuguese colonial architecture . The traditional house of these places used the northeast trade winds coming from the sea to vent housing, mainly through cross ventilation.

Bay home this applies all vernacular building tradition . housing which protects the interior of the heat generated abroad. The plant is organized around a central courtyard , creating cross-ventilation in every possible space . The views overlooking the courtyard , where you can see a mango garden . This property favors the environmental comfort without the use of sustainable technologies.
