Military Club Association by Genaro Alva

The assignment was make 3 small projects for the Circle Club Military Association of Peru : a gym, a cafe-restaurant and a spa area, which should be located in different areas within the club.

The proposal questions this premise suggested by the customer, because we felt that the project located in different areas generated a gap between them and existing buildings (administration offices, meeting rooms and a hotel), higher energy expenditure, increased spending on the structural issue and a major investment for building maintenance in time. That is why the suggested approach used the 3 places in order a single building.

The project located in one of the few green areas that still Lima Avenue headquarters of the Association Salaverry Peru’s Military Circle, but this is private property and the fate of the building would be for club members and visitors, the new building should respond to this premise clearly: keep 100% of green area of the field.

That why the project involves a series of topographic operations in the field to generated green roofs that serve as programs cover. The result of this operation is in a spiral path building which can discover the natural and urban views of the environment, it ranks as the existing trees, tennis courts, pool, city buildings, and others. In addition, the roof of the building has a flexible configuration which allows activities of the club and championship tennis, outdoor movies, holiday events and lectures happen.

This coverage is a series of platforms or terraces with natural grass, quality of the flat light from the Lima’s sky, generated inside an overhead light with good quality, it accompanied by a side transparency building. This type of overhead lighting refers to the typical of Lima’ house.

The environment projects are positioned beneath the 3 vacuum created by the aforementioned topographic operations. The first vacuum located on the ground floor, place the spa area and the cafe-restaurant, because they can find the : tennis courts, racquetball and soccer.

And the second vacuum located above the first, it was the gym area and should take advantage of the landscape where it stood: see the top of the trees and the vegetation. Finally the third was located in the upper part of the project. It was snack bar area, this space provides access to the terraces that cover the entire project after a heavy workout routine the idea of ??buying a drink and go to fresh air is always comfort.
