The office based in Copenhagen WE architecture In collaboration with Sophus Arkitekter Søby, Received first place in a competition to design a cultural center in the town of Holte, Denmark. The future Cultural Centre Mariehøj drawing a clear profile in the landscape. With a new foyer, the cultural center will have a new face into the inviting, all the people of the municipality of Ruderdahl and a heart that brings and highlights the many users and indoor activities.

The cultural center was founded with the green landscape acts as a bridge in the gap between the arrival area, the cultural plaza and Mariehøj beautiful courtyard, open to the surroundings and incorporates the quality of green activities in the interior.

The building is at the same time, a cultural center and a great place to work. Through the reorganization and reconstruction, were generated greater space for individual activities and appropriate positions of the various functions. At the same time, it created more space crossings and meeting points. Brings many activities and creates new spaces where meetings and activities can be developed depending on the interests and ages.

The new cultural center is an autonomous body with a strong aesthetic and functional quality. The reconstruction of the building is not just an update, but a vision of what the cultural center may need for future challenges and enhance the unique character and common histories. The Cultural Center Mariehøj must unite and integrate people across different ages and interests. Should involve people to take inspiration from the new stories, completing a life experience and cultural in version 2.0. The building should inspire and generate new interest both familiar and also promote new encounters between users and staff.

Mariehøj Cultural Center currently consists of several buildings of different data and therefore, different styles. From the classical school to the 70 buildings. The new foyer takes the best of the style of existing buildings and introduces a new type, no stranger to the rest of the building.
