Maitland House by Jonas Retamal
Maitland House is a summer house on the coast of the V region, built entirely of wood, go to rest and admire the sea, surrounded by warm colors, given by native wood brought from Chiloé.
The set is presented as high volumes placed in the highest part of land of 16m x35m, leaving the house in a waiting status. The environment is a varied type of housing, constructed of wood standing on pine logs as the slope of the hill Tacna.
We adopt this type and level 0.0 and later access to the house from where the gun platform that supports housing, achieved in its main facade elevations to find the ocean and build the parking lots covered by this.
On the platform have 2 areas: The Department of the parents room, bedroom, dressing room and bathroom, and the relative volume that contains a large living room and terrace, crowned by the bedroom of her 3 children and a second more intimate terrace that connects the bedrooms and from where you get to see the full sea.
The main view of the housing is to the sea through large windows, to where have all the social venues in contrast to other fronts where your openings are measured and arranged according to the need for ventilation or enclosure desolation services.
The gross structure of the housing is made of cypress wood of guaitecas, Pino Ulmo and impregnated. Inside is lined by native wood plywood, floor tiles in red Ulmo yellow tepa, which is also on the walls to add warmth and joy inside.
