L ‘Institut, called the library located at the French Institute in Bucharest. It was one of three nominees for interior design of Bucharest Architecture Biennale 2010. The great innovation of this proposal is to generate a new library concept – coffee from the reinterpretation of the booksellers, transforming the character of the space element.
Each bookcase is presented as a kind of sculptural panel generates a contribution not only aesthetically but also maintain their functionality. Booksellers serve as shelves and wall at the same time, creating reading corners and a small entrance hall.
The materials used include wood, metal and glass. Metal plates are used to shape the shelves, structurally supported by pieces of oak, and final completion, a large glass rear covers partywhich shelf. Each of the elements is used to generate a feeling of lightness in the design. The area of coffee and reading is key to project design, it is the airy space that lets you appreciate the site.
