The project involves the upgrading of the 2 top floors of a former Victorian warehouse in a home for a filmmaker. The transformation creates a place to retreat to the city of a busy working life and a place of reflection takes advantage of the incredible views of the city around. The existing roof structure is removed and replaced by two large steel beams and tables wooden boxes of sufficient length to create a living space and create a new horizon at roof level.

In addition to supporting the new roof, beams provide an organizational structure and lead to an area of view and frames, with views across the terrace and the distant city. The other beam is glazed to create a piece of natural light that gives light to the space below. Different terraces occupy the space between the 2 beams – enclosures.
