There are two entities constituting the units in our world: the interior and exterior. Object and space. Extroverted and introverted. Assets and liabilities. Community life and inner silence. We want to surround the building and the hall where the music around us. The building itself is alive, moving with the dynamic symmetry of the golden ratio. The hall itself is full of tranquility by the symmetry of intellectual serenity.

Everything derives from the mathematical foundations of our world. “The music conveys a universal truth in itself, shows direct connections the order of the physical and spiritual world. There are two sequences apparently significant in the synthesis of our world. As shown later, both start with number 1 and 2. In the first sequence, each number is multiplied by 2 to reach the next, while in the second, each number is the sum of its two predecessors. Both sequences can be found in European music.

The first sequence is represented by the symmetry of classical music. Is filled by the search for balance. Not like in the case of the second sequence. The Fibonacci series is the most common presentation of gold in whole numbers. The golden ratio is usually called dynamic symmetry. So beautiful embodiment in music is perhaps the first movement of Music for Strings, Percussion and Celeste by Bartók. The golden ratio as a feature of the living world is quite efficient to express the fight, the battle and tension of existence as a balance to express the intellectual serenity. Bartók composed his most impressive pieces – Sonata for two pianos, which means the area of the golden ratio in the first movement, and the principle of the classical symmetry in the past.

The two systems are interrelated as the worlds – more precisely, as two sides of the world. The first applies the balance as a guiding principle, the second applied voltage. Are connected in a course and exclusion, make up a unit and a contrast. The architectural features of the concert hall are in close harmony with the common principles of musical composition and design. Dynamics and balances. Two sides of the same world. Building elements: stone and wood. Hard and soft. Cold and warm. Durable and intimate. The stone slowly change in the concert hall with pure wood. As if we were listening to music in a giant figure of wood or other instrument.

The opening of the concert hall means that 200 years of sleep are about to become reality in the musical development of the city. Its main objective artistic and professional, applying the principle of regionalism, is the introduction of Pecs, as the musical center of the southern culture. As the local orchestra, the Pannon Philharmonic Orchestra will determine the professional musical concept concert hall. The existing traditional dates may gain new dimensions have the opportunity to invite guest artists who have never visited before Pecs for reasons of infrastructure as well as for parts that could not be organized in the above locations. These are the conditions for further progress of the orchestra, and all possible for the concert hall.

The new building will also include a concert hall and rehearsal room, the offices of the Pannon Philharmonic and conference center, other facilities necessary for the operation of the orchestra (such as storage of sheet music and instruments), facilities services to hearing-cafeteria, library, lounge, etc – and several local service providers. The competition was closed in the spring of 2007. The winning proposal was submitted by the Építész Studio Ltd. from Budapest. Archaeological exploration and licensing procedures were completed, construction work began in July 2009. The inaugural concert took place in December 2010.
