Zaha Hadid is responsible design for KAPSARC (King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center) in Saudi Arabia , a project that aims to be an area of research and international collaboration for energy and the environment.

The project is the work of King Abdullah , who has funded important projects for science and research by hiring leading architects . last year opened at the University of Science and Technology KAUST near Jeddah, a work of more than 600.000m2 we had the opportunity to meet thanks to an invitation by the King himself (see University of Science and Technology King Abdullah / HOK Platform Architecture).

The ” Center Petroleum Research “in Riyadh is under construction . Zaha proposed structures hexagonal are grouped around circulations half covered , which allow ventilation for the various spaces.

The program KAPSARC includes a library, conference rooms and space for prayer among others. The design considered all sorts of strategies climatic and environmental .
