KH + DH House by Vladimir Kalinowski
The challenge was to develop two separate accommodations for two elderly couples. The concept is focused on the organization of both houses around a central courtyard, which became a connecting point, not only perceptually the two buildings, but also programmatically created as a place where couples can meet and socialize.
The relationship between inside and outside became a crucial aspect of the quality of space. The main rooms of the two houses are oriented to a garden. Visually the bedroom extends outward, creating the feeling of openness of space, while ensuring good natural lighting and ventilation.
The main program of the house was located on the ground floor, allowing it to work on one level. Due to customer demand, additional rooms for guests, were adjusted on the first floor.
