HPA – Terminal01

HPA (Horie Park Apartment) Is a mixed use building – residential and commercial – is at the heart of the city of Osaka. It is a narrow strip of land across an entire city block and faces a park, on the west there is a temple of low height, which allows the building to communicate openly with the city in three directions.

To seize this unique condition, we used lots of glass for the west facade of the building. The upper floors of the 26 housing units consisting of 7 different models is why the facade directly reflects the program of each of them having different ways of glass panels or concrete.

Thus, the building has been open for the units to get as many views and abundant natural light, at the same time to enhance this sense of openness to a neighborhood with plenty of movement.

In the entrance hall was to provide a space to express the sense of change through movement: the white marble walls inlaid with crystals sparkle when walking through this space. Steel beams were added stainless steel panels and galvanized steel, materials that contribute to the nature of space through the reflection of light, which changes constantly throughout the day.

Within departments, the reflective materials used on floors and walls to allow its users to feel the changing climate. The exterior is reflected in them, creating a unique atmosphere inside images through the park and entering the city departments.

In the units on the eighth floor, the glass was installed in the walls of the corridor from the entrance to the living room. Outdoor scenes are also reflected in them, opening a space that is usually dark and content.
