House Martin by ALT architecture
In this house design the architect try to “make a nice home.” Art is not better or worse for beauty design, but by the degree of emotion that arises. Beauty is superficial and in most cases, false. My obsession with this case is to make a total abstraction (which has nothing to do with minimalism), evoking the same mixed emotions we feel when we see the black monolith in “2001: A Space Odyssey”, Stonehenge, bulls Guisando , or the black smoke of “Lost” (before the cagaran with explanations).
It is a black box that absorbs light, no cap on the edges, with holes instead of windows. Flee proportion, its geometry is strictly demand by the internal function. I tend to be formalistic in my architecture, but here I wanted to approach it as something that comes out of nowhere, as if we never studied architecture. Not a house or a sculpture, I’m not sure it is, nor do I want to know. And so I created a restlessness that keeps me going adore my job
In a bland environment posed by the implementation of the family home. It is divided into two distinct parts, the lower bound to the ground and the top on it. The land is sinking slightly folded, to put under the line of the street the office lounge area / kitchen. In this way, with a large fold down the street is achieve by creating an artificial skyline hiding houses surrounding the plot. This part is flexible, organic and open. On it rests a rectangular stainless steel pure, home rooms. This part is rigid, artificial and closed. The resulting set is a pure and enigmatic piece that rests on an artificial hill.
