Gallery Nan – AZL architects

The project was a renovation of a boiler of an institute of chemical engineering at an art gallery. Nan Gallery is covered by a front panel corroguados weathering steel was used for the front door. The seasonal pattern of the building is entangled in its context, and after a few months contemporary structure was temporarily ambiguous. The result was an infusion of post-industrial nature in its field and program.

Special consideration was taken in the existing brick chimney, connecting the gallery to the ground. The transition from outside to inside can not be more rigid, with gallery space in a clean white that makes everything pure in contrast to the more rough and worn outside. The exhibition space of 7 feet tall is very suitable for exhibitions, with a clear architectural expression nuanced respect for the art pieces on display.

The unity of opposites, realistic materials, visual games and foster a sense of poise and self-sufficiency.
