Foster + Partners projects built with sustainable criteria around the world. The only continent that was missing has now completed its first project: the branch of BMCE Morocco (Banque Marocaine du Commerce Exterieur) in Africa. More information and pictures below.
The project includes energy efficiency as a starting point for their designs, based on local materials and cooling systems without electricity. The interior is surrounded by a lattice of stainless steel with a traditional geometric pattern that country. This maintains high efficiency, making the building requires very little electrical refrigeration.
In addition to using local labor during construction were also used local materials such as black granite and gray limestone in much of the design. Iconic recent Turkish architecture, the dome is played in each of the three buildings designed BMCE.
The interior was designed in tadelakt, A local art plaster, while the exterior is clad in traditional ceramic tiles. The dome on the building slides into the banking hall generating an impressive chair waiting for the public.
You used an electric cooling system, llamdo “soil pipe.” This tube leads fresh air around the building underground, naturally cool the earth and releasing it into the interior.
