The main difficulty was to define the program with the client, who had originally planned to build three houses on the ground. The project was gradually reduced to finally build only one of them and preserve the natural terrain.
The intention was to establish a dialogue Eustache close to the land, vegetation and the Atlas Mountains on the horizon. The size of the house of 170 m2 on a plot of 2.5 hectares, forced to seek a dynamic equilibrium despite this difference in scale. In this way, was played with light and shadow to enhance and strengthen volumes.
Were used as clay materials and techniques such as Pierre d’Ourika tadelakt and attempted to preserve the wild nature of the land despite planting over 500 trees. The typical thickness of the walls was doubled to increase the control of indoor temperatures, creating spaces of great height.
