Flake House is a nomadic shelter, designed to be located anywhere. It is a poetic shelter, a “folie” that combines technology with more rustic materials. The interior is plain and simple, to contrast with the external trunk liner.
Designed in 2006 for the contest “Petites machines à habiterOrganized by 72 CAUEThe proposed office Olgga is based on the concept of “folie”, where the wooden frame is broken into two halves to establish a radical spatial limit, materializing an unexpected input sequence.
The result is reminiscent of a broken limb, as unconventional scale is the main idea of the project can move, lift, or come off live. One half is the area served and the other the servant. Some years after the contest, the house was installed in Nantes, France, from 5 June to 16 August 2009 at the Festival Estuaire Nantes / St. Nazaire, organized by Le Lieu Unique.
