Construction cost beyond $ 300 million provided for the period 2001 – 2005 building takes an amount of $ 336 million – the largest investment in the culture of the period. In subsequent years the amount increased to $ 362 million until the eve of its opening, the total amount spent on it is about $ 400 million Arch. Paul Andrew said: “This is a big building with many amenities and features, but need money and support. People are surprised by the large amount, but a fact: if you want the building to look good and be clean: this is the price.”
Until the National Center for the Performing Arts is achieved by 60 metroev glazed tunnel, which is hidden beneath the surface of the lake. The entrance to it is from Chang An Avenue on the north side of the building. The entrance was coined in this way in order not to distort the shape of nowhere “egg” and the idea is to pass from public life in the world of art in “mysterious ways”.
“Shell” of the building is glass with titanium coating. The facade is “prejudice” in glass “curtain” in the north – south, which descends from the top to the base. “The glass opens the building like a curtain, behind which is visible interior: theaters, izlozhebeni and public places – sharing Arch. Andrew. During the day light enter the building through the glass roof and at night the interior is visible from the outside.
From inside the vault of the building is covered with long curved panels of red pieces of Brazilian mahogany, imported from abroad, the only element used in the construction. It creates a spaciousness and warmth. The floors are paved with marble in white, yellow or gray, collected from 22 Chinese provinces. Arranged so that their strips to form continuous lines.
Domestic prstranstva that are open to the public appearance of urban areas: streets, squares, places for shopping, restaurants, places of recreation. National Centre for the Performing Arts is an open forum rather than a place for elite performances.
“The building of the opera is a central part of the complex. It is like a baroque pearl mussel in which has made the water” – says Paul Andrew. Opera is situated in the center because it is defined as the most important element in the project, the most reliant on tradition and the most mysterious. The hall has 2,416 seats. Lodges at the highest level, designed under the roof, allowing the audience to observe the city around from an unprecedented angle. Opera is covered with a network of gold-plated metal. Viewers enter the hall in one of two large entrance doors.
Concert hall and theater are located on both sides of the opera. The walls of the theater, the smallest of the three halls are lined with thick silk upholstery, split into red, purple and orange lines. Both boards have a capacity of 1040 people.
The ceiling of the concert hall consists of acoustic panels in the form of waves that resemble abstract art. Concert Hall has a capacity of 2017 seats.
