Crusoe House / Dellekamp Architects
The Mexican office Architects Dellekamp shared with us his proposal for sustainable housing for the natural reserve of Rio Lagartos in Yucatan. Here we present images and the memory of the project, Yaoci Pardo.
This “house of adventure” was planned as an iconic example of a lifestyle for the area. Crusoe House, located in a fishing area of ??pristine beaches, facilitates contact with nature and provides a unique experience of the natural reserve of Rio Lagartos.
The multi-level home, inspired by local architecture, implements a modern experimental design that makes extensive use of wood and bamboo. The residence looks like a forest of columns with a quarter hanging structure is articulated as a set of drawers divided by blinds.
Open concept façade facing the sea in a northerly direction keeps the house cool and ventilated naturally. All power supply is sustainable, makes use of solar heating systems, collection and recycling of water and wind energy.
The raised floor provides bioclimatic regulation allows a broker of wildlife and vegetation. The construction provides for the raising of water level and the presence of hurricanes in the area.
The residence itself is a tool to explore the site. Its design is intended to facilitate risky adventure experience that distinguishes home pitch is commonly observed in complexes of bungalows.
The pool is accessed via a wooden deck. The house is surrounded by soft interventions in the natural landscape, recreational items such as platforms, dunes, covered.
