Beach House continues with the interest of BKK Architects in the development of sequences within domestic spaces. The spaces are revealed in two ways, either denying or releasing the views of the place. The tour through the house passes a series of spaces that subtly vary in their orientation, which tends to make you to lose your reference at times over the ground.
The house was formally conceived as an exercise volume in origami. The layered double spaces from each other. This gesture makes the house seem to some extent, an informal occupation, a small home base to which parts have been added over time. Inside many of these spaces generate sequences folded amazing spaces for meeting and the opportunity to generate a variety of connections between spaces.
Carefully situated in response to climatic conditions and site location, the house appears to have been thrown into the place and then anchored to it. Among the sectors built, external voids are oriented according to the changes that have patterns of wind and sun during the day. The location of these spaces gives users the possibility of alternative employment and shelter depending on the prevailing climate.
A large masonry wall forms the organizational spine of the house and in turn anchor the various elements that compose the landscape. This research on the topic of the wall as a mark on the land and exhaustive exploration of the site occupation, are recurring areas of deepening BKK Architects .
