This is a concrete contemporary house, situated in a quiet neighborhood called Kuomintang-era, in the center of Nanjing. The structure and gabled roofs are made of concrete pressed in a mold made by hand.

This mold is made especially for the construction of the house with wooden planks two inches wide. They gave the finishing brick-like texture of the neighboring houses, much older.

The slot in the concrete that covers much of the house, creates a transparency that responds to the internal movement and that brings up different heights in the interior, making it richer. Thus, some of the more public spaces and programs were placed in more than one level.
