The new office building Synergiasias Co-op bank of the villas Kiti, Pervolia, Meneou Tersefanou and is located in Kiti, Larnaca district, on land at the north end of the village, next to the company’s business facilities and near the local high school.
The building spans the main street, opposite the school, reinforcing the public character of the street but also creating a continuous linear barrier of heavy traffic. Access to the building is through the interior pedestrian path that connects the building with the existing facilities of the commercial department, the parking area and generated little public park.
The different functions of the building are divided into distinct groups around a central atrium seeking to ensure the safe operation of the banking area in relation to the activities taking place in other areas. The area of banking and café are located on the street level and the reading hall and meeting room on the first floor. Bodegas, files and the server room are located in the basement.
The interior layout of the building and the horizontal and vertical circulations are projected at elevations that are made of different concrete surfaces in the light, glass curtain walls and thermo.
The emphasis was given for the quality of natural and artificial light, depending on the function of interior space. At street level, large openings are shaded windows with concrete and wood that allow natural light to penetrate interior spaces avoiding eye contact between the interior and exterior. The total transparency of the street level contrasts with the outlook for top-level windows, penetrating concrete walls opaque and translucent surfaces of glass facades.
