Wildermeth Child Clinic, in 2000, decided to incorporate the Hospital complex of Biel. This considered simultaneously improve service and reduce operating costs through synergies with the existing hospital. The building’s form is the result of the need for a maximum of constructive development on the perimeter of the front to have the largest number of local contact with the outside.

The geometry of the surface of the new Annex is strictly supports underground parking behind. The first level is made of reinforced concrete and steel top level, seeking to minimize the burden on the existing level. The interior spatial development aims to avoid the conventional model of hospital space. The long, dark corridor is abandoned and replaced by circulation spaces with natural light, dynamic forms that have different perspectives and changes.

All traffic areas on your end have a singular point, which as the exterior landscape or interior landscape (patios or sculptures). Áraes not just traffic but also places for meeting and sharing, where all parties not included in the program can take place. The facades of stained glass are incorporated into the inner landscape to create light and reflections change with the seasons and climate of the day.

All rooms are located in children the first level, with views and access to the garden, which was designed to be viewed from the inside. The main entrance to the clinic is through a central access and the hospital complex and not through the Annex. A series of sculptures of penguins enliven the landscape. These animals can be seen from every room of children, establishing a special dynamic between the interior and exterior.
