In a residential area of ??Quito, we propose a building with four apartments of approximately 400 m2 each. The building was commissioned by a family, and has four floors and a basement for parking lots, warehouses and its services.
The site is trapezoidal in shape, has a steep negative, and is made up of two fronts to the internal roads of the estate.
According to these premises, the building design proposes the following:
Volumetric clarity in relation to the morphology of the terrain and the program solved within. In plan, the trapezius is divided into two pure geometric shapes (triangle and rectangle) where these formal rigor of the facade as well as the main organizer of the plants. The four departments are integrated to geometry as follows: Two departments duplex ground floor, one triangular side of the plant and the other on the rectangular side. The third and fourth floor are the two remaining departments occupying the entire plant each. In this case, the geometry defined program of each department. The social and service areas occupy the triangular side and private side of the rectangular plants. circulations become articulating elements between the two forms.
Finally, the main lobby of the building. It is a triangular volume of three stories that took the union between the two geometric shapes, and opens through a glass screen into a public plaza to the building entrance.
The organization and space management on the topography of the land through various platforms starting with the entry plaza, parking lots, and finally the common area and garden in the lowest point of the field.
