The square is bordered by the elongated structure of the gallery, facing the city and the campus. Towards the city, the continuous façade of the gallery (160 meters long) unifies the heterogeneous appearance of existing buildings behind the gallery into a cohesive urban unit. The facade of the city is accompanied by a sculpture garden, creating a green edge to the campus. The two-storey monolithic body emerges from the topography of the northern part of campus and floats on the entrance courtyard on the south, where it seems to be jumping into the urban space.

The gallery houses exhibition spaces, the power to museum, workshops and an auditorium, contributing to the external activities of the Deichmann Plaza. Since the plaza was designed to receive intensive agglomerations of youth and students, the chosen solution was to locate areas enclosed by vegetation. The design of the plaza, several elements of exposed concrete, around buildings connected physically and visually, emphasizing their common characteristics.
