Beach House Pekapeka by Parsonson Architects

This summer home was an exploration of how to create a building with strong architectural character but economical at a time. We use a modular construction technique is also simple with a very simple. The plant is a rectangle and divided into 3 parts, the solid forms of the room at each end supported on a floating roof living space.

This distribution allows the stand in front of the east to the mountains and west towards the sea. It also allows the sun to enter the house during the day, for a passive solar heating of the concrete and creates a protected space on the west side still retaining a strong connection with views towards the sea.
