This design corresponds to a replacement of existing buildings are designed according to an architectural program that includes three distinct elements: elementary school, preschool and future indoor ball court. The property is located along Avenida Bahamondes facing the waterfront and Liberty Street.
The program consists of 11 classrooms, including Special Education, multitaller, computer room, library, dining halls and all regulatory requirements. The Prebasic considered a room and covered patio, and finally includes a bathroom and dressing sector associated with a ball court, the latter is considered a future closing, why are located on one side of the property to the volume integrated into the building.
During the development of the project was advised by a specialist in energy efficiency, the emphasis was on teachers to guide campuses in their entirety to the north to maximize the benefits of direct solar radiation. We develop a compact plant to reduce the exposed surfaces of the building envelope, size of openings, natural lighting, ventilation of all campuses, and an active heating system with coil-type geothermal underground.
The titration is based on pitched roofs which reflects the tradition of the place, and is consistent with the climate of permanent rainfall, prevents storm water channels inside the building. The school structure is made of confined masonry in the first and second floor and roof structure of wood.
The benefit of the school is renewed in a strategic point of access to the city for a contemporary building, tightly integrated with the community, and gives it an urban scale that enhances the beauty of the place. The building is a social equipment with access to independent school sector, preschool and ball court. The volume can reconstruct an edge and make continuous dismembered.
The ball court has an associated bathing area and dressing rooms and allow its use for the whole community. Championships can be developed, meeting teens where you can meet roofed many other functions such as a meeting place for teenagers, etc. sports center.
