Office Guedes + DeCamp developed a few years ago this project to a bar in Vila Nova, Portugal, in returning to work with the building’s skin. This flag is still some key concepts such as simplicity, high economic efficiency and the use of a standard solution.

That’s why using a modular system adaptable and combinable, allowing when owners feel the need to expand your kitchen, can add a new module to the original game, demonstrating the flexibility of the concept and construction system.

The skin is essentially a steel frame defined by a honeycomb structure, which tends to neutrality to avoid invading the landscape. This operation allowed to play with the necessary transparency and versatility between the open and closed, depending on weather conditions this should protect from rain, but keep the possibility open to the breeze of the river in the hottest days.

The structure is 27 m long and 40 cm high, creating a honeycomb very expressive, bringing the interior space a constant interplay between light and shadow, and an interesting optical effect between mass and lightness. A complete crystal structure flexible in order, ensuring the closure of the proposal.
