Located at the corner of Felix Brown and Crepet, Atrium Gerland, first building of this size (8,523 square meters of floor area) in Lyon to benefit from the new energy performance label-PEQA BBC. Early 2012 it will host the regional job center.

The project takes place on a former fuel storage, with significant oil pollution. The process of decontamination chosen depends on the setting “mound” (earthen berm) of contaminated soil and on the activation of hydrocarbon bio degradation by aerobic bacteria. This biological treatment has limited environmental impact.

The architecture consists of a single basic volume packed in a mesh aluminum expanded forming a “cocoon” translucent and evanescent. The facade is punctuated by alternating glass elements and solid elements.

The interior space as an atrium that brings natural light to all offices. Bridges cut this large volume to offer a cross-traffic.
