An old abandoned warehouse, related to the fishing industry, was chosen to host two studies of architecture: “Nuno Sampaio Arquitetos” and the Innovation Lab “Urban Strategy.”
The intervention consisted of cutting a volume that conforms and adapts to the spatial needs of the compartments that require more privacy or a thermal and acoustic control independent, offices, kitchen and bathroom area.
The central area of ??this volume includes offices and meeting rooms which are shared between both companies, allowing a physical separation between the architectural and auditorium Urban Strategy. From this central core accesses the ground floor, 100 m2 for a workshop on modeling, file space, storage and technical facilities.
The outer layer of metal of this volume creates a contrast with the white space around it, marked by the original wooden structure, and noise levels of sky, as well as the walls of the lighting infrastructure to ensure artificial circulation air and air-conditioning.
This intervention from a global perspective favors the space lit by skylights in the roof, which in turn ensures the natural ventilation of the space.
