Alexandra House – architects Cekada-ROMAN
The house is located in a neighborhood not consolidated on the outskirts of Rosario. The landscape the rural character of the Pampas, with fields of crops and industrial buildings with fifth successive brick kilns and Creoles (named for the traditional technique of manual working with clay and resource economics).
The project responds to the request for a compact country house, lying on the south side in order to capture sunlight all the way and free up as much park. The morphological development of a volume subjected to cuts and subtraction operations. We define the geometry from the guidelines, income and visual light desired.
The ground floor, designed for common use and meeting grows in height with a pitched roof to the second level creating a double height space. Upstairs, for the intimate use of the bedrooms, moves toward the bottom of the field to generate the gallery below and the barbecue industry in relation to the pool.
The brick is chosen for its low cost and rawness in its finish. This material defines morphology, texture and modulation. It adopts a double-wall bearing masonry with a lock consisting of a row of bricks supported table and a row supported on edge. This pattern allows modular possibilities for meetings between parties, the height of steps, the thickness of slab, the revenue size of light and the accommodation of lights. The brick also appears to be finished on the sloping roof and as permanent formwork in the galleries.
