The origin of the project on the analysis of the relationship between public and private space in an arrangement required by the rules as closed block , defined by an existing building on the south side and the new building , with U- shaped plan The definition of public space inside , capable of building relationships with the existing built environment and provide attractive spaces of transition , improve housing conditions , limited because of its social, providing a space of access and relationship.

The building is located on the southern edge of Taussig , a town 50 km . northwest of Zaragoza. The project avoids direct dialogue in formal terms to the nearest decontextualized environment – the site bounded on the north with a green area , south of collective residential buildings , the east industrial area , and west to the path from Zaragoza and municipal sports – indoor public space being responsible for building relationships and continuity with adjacent spaces for the proper implementation of the action in its environment.

In order to address the urban character of the interior of the block facing two restrictions on the volume of the building : first, fit the basement parking in double bay width of raised floors of homes, giving the maximum occupancy not permitted to reduce the dimensions of public space , the second release a generous size porch on the north side , under the building , linking the interior with the existing green area , along with those in the west and south sides of the lot , trees and street furniture contribute to understand the interior of the block as a public space.

The project also had to respond to the rugged topography of the site, with significant gaps between the beginning and end of the block , and programmatic and financial constraints , common in these types of promotions . The conditions of the project – the economy , present in the choice of materials , and adaptation to the topography , are transformed into formal arguments of the building through an abstract language of staggered horizontal bands of white and black. This composition , grouping and ordering the various holes in the housing , provides a horizontal momentum to the volume of apple firmness . The meeting of the building and the ground is achieved by a veneer of white limestone .

In typological terms , this is a public housing development of Aragon Land and Housing , a program of 44 housing units , 3 and 4 bedrooms, parking and storage , in a block with U -shaped plan of four-story dwellings that are home raised and lower ground floor parking. The four communication centers provide access to three homes per floor in two directions . One is an intern , with double circulation around the core services through the hall and kitchen , connected directly to the room, both facing the interior space. In the two remaining houses , the living room corner has two directions , while the bedrooms and kitchen are located on each side respectively, and the service core on the inside.

The focus of the project from source to treatment within the block as a qualified space administration had a happy corollary : the end of the works, the central space was the subject of separation from the rest of the plot to become the municipal ownership , joining the network of streets , squares and public spaces Taussig.
