If you want to make a splash in the bathroom a nautical decorating theme is easy and inexpensive to adopt. With use of colour, careful selection of your suite and a few carefully placed accessories, you can have your room looking shipshape in no time.
1) Echo the colours of the sea by using blue ceramic tiles or matt paint to cover your bathroom walls. Follow the theme through to the floor where you could choose to tile with white tiles, or recreate the deck of a ship by staining exposed floor boards.
2) Maximise space by freeing up the positioning or your bathroom suite using a freestanding bath and using column and vertical radiators. This will allow you to use walls for storage using wooden stained cabinets or shelving where you may display nautical paraphernalia such as wooden anchors or a ship’s wheel, or store your cosmetic products. To continue through the ship theme you may want to use chrome effect taps, towel rails and soap holders.
3) Use accessories that add to the nautical theme – this is a great way to complete the look without too much expense. Think; shell soap holders, Bretton-striped bath mats and anchor-print blinds or shower curtains.
