Contest Taiwan Tower Design Concept custom made as the conceptual design of a building symbol for Taiwan. This should be thought of as part of the commemoration of the centenary of the founding of the city and celebrate the merger of County and Taichung City. Below we show images and the memory of the winning project, called Floating Observatories office Dorin Stefan / DsbAMihai Carciun and upgrade.studio.
Taking as its starting point the visual geography of Taiwan – an island that looks like a sheet – we have developed the concept of a tech tree. It began with the design space of eight leaves (eight is a number cabal in the local culture) as a zeppelin-shaped elevators that glide up and down in the “tree trunk” and serving as lookouts.
We have called these elevators floating observatories because they can move 50 to 80 persons are self-supporting through helium balloons are constructed of lightweight materials (from the spacecraft industry) and are covered by a membrane edge (PTFE). These move on a vertical track with the electromagnetic field.
The tower built in the underground and in the spaces at ground level, the program manager, information center, museum, offices, conference rooms, restaurants and viewpoints fixed.
